Laura Weber, DVM, EVP cert.

Dr. Laura Weber received her DVM from Michigan State University in 2006. After practicing primary care in the Mid-Michigan area for several years, Dr. Weber completed two years of advanced training at the University of Illinois through the Executive Veterinary Program and received her certification in diagnostic ultrasound in 2014. Following certification, Dr. Weber founded Animal Ultrasound Services, LLC and has been providing in-clinic diagnostic imaging to over 40 veterinary practices as well as multiple zoos and aquariums. She is currently one of the leading experts in the field on reproductive sonography of sharks and stingrays. Dr. Weber is also an active member of the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society, and regularly instructs DVM student externs in veterinary sonography.

Ari Jutkowitz, VMD, DACVECC

Dr. Ari Jutkowitz received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. He completed an internship and residency in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Tufts University and became board certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2002. Dr. Jutkowitz served on the faculty at Michigan State University from 2004-2020 as an associate professor of emergency and critical care medicine and chief of the medicine section. He is a recognized international lecturer, and has published numerous research manuscripts and book chapters related to hematology, toxicology, and critical care medicine. Dr. Jutkowitz is a member of the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society (IVUSS) and the Veterinary Ultrasound Society of the ACVR.

Laurie Kretzschmar, LVT

Laurie graduated from Michigan State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She honed her skills in specialty medicine and diagnostic imaging at Veterinary Specialty Care in Charleston, SC, where she served as a licensed veterinary technician in internal medicine, oncology, and cardiology. Laurie moved back home in 2018 and joined the Radiation Oncology Department at Michigan State University, gaining further experience in diagnostic ultrasound, CT scans, and anesthesia. Laurie has been with Animal Ultrasound Services since 2021, and has completed extensive training in abdominal ultrasound both onsite and through training programs at North Carolina State University and Sonopath. She currently serves as licensed veterinary technician at our outpatient location, while also providing mobile ultrasound services within the Greater Lansing area. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, three dogs, and one cat.

Savannah Downing, RDMS

Savannah graduated from Lansing Community College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program in 2016. Following graduation, she passed her boards and became nationally registered in Obstetrics and Abdomen. After working in the human medical field for 2 years, she transitioned over to the veterinary medical field. Her dream job was always to include her love for ultrasound and animals. She was employed at Michigan State University for 7 years where she was the lead sonographer for the small animal hospital, further honing her impressive skill set. She currently splits her time between Animal Ultrasound Services and the Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty Hospital in South Carolina. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family (human and four-legged), baking, and shopping.
